The right hiking shoe
Technically good boots are the alpha and omega of hiking & trekking and an essential part of hiking equipment. A suitable hiking shoe prevents blisters and pain on the feet, which can quickly arise on a long hiking or mountain tour. If a hiking boot doesn't fit, frustration and pain are inevitable. Hiking and mountaineering is more about enjoying the outdoor experience and the mountain world, instead of having to worry about aching feet and somehow tormenting yourself to the summit. With a well-fitting trekking shoe, collecting kilometers and meters in altitude is a lot easier, regardless of whether you have a lighter hiking backpack or a fully packed trekking backpack.

How we lace up our hiking boots can also determine whether we get pressure points or blisters. Therefore: "Lace hiking shoes so tight that I don't swim in the shoe like in a slipper. For the ascent, lace tighter, but not too tight. The foot needs a bit of play, half a centimeter to one centimeter. Everyone has to try something is best for him."
Another tip against blisters when hiking: the right socks. Because even the best and most breathable Gore-Tex shoes are of no use with simple cotton socks. Because cotton socks soak up sweat and do not pass it on to the shoe, which should release the moisture to the outside. Therefore, use special hiking socks with synthetic and wool components that are reinforced and padded on the balls of the feet and heels. These transport sweat to the outside.
Before the first serious use of the newly acquired hiking boot on the next hike or alpine mountain and high-altitude tour, it should definitely be worn in properly. Extensive running-in, if possible in any terrain, allows the hiking and trekking shoe to adapt to the foot, which counteracts blisters later on on the tour.
There are now special hiking and trekking shoes for women on the outdoor market. The anatomically adapted hiking boots should give mountaineers and nature lovers unforgettable outdoor adventures instead of blisters and foot pain in the future. Since women naturally have narrower feet, the women's models under the hiking boots are equipped with a narrower bar and thus adapted to the anatomy of the mountaineer's feet. Men who have wider and longer feet, on the other hand, can use wider shoe lasts and larger shoe sizes for their hiking boots and trekking shoes. Of course there are also extra hiking shoes for children.
